The author does a great job of giving out an important message through such a sweet, entertaining story. It gives not just children, but also adults the reminder to appreciate what we already have.

It's written very well and is easy to follow, as well as having amazing drawings to illustrate the story. Overall I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a child friendly story with a great message behind it.
Pretty interesting story on how to appreciate what we have, but also on how to look for new things, the help we can get along the way, how different people like different things...
For kids over 5 I'd say. Good for some adults too D
Got this for my 5yr old Daughter that just loves horses and she loves this book. I love that she can just open this up at any time and keep herself entertained.

This charming little story about a Horse called Holly and her adventures in search of better things is an ideal bed time story. Holly meets some friends along the way including a goat and an owl and in the end she discovers that the grass is greenest close to home. Once mom and dad have read this story to their little ones, they can continue reading. The real value in this book lies at the end where Wendy shares her parenting tips. And as if that's not enough, there's a bonus at the end involving a duck - but if you want to know what it is, buy this and find out for yourself. You won't regret it!
The book is positive, and great for children. At the end of the book is a neat little short story called "ducky the duck doesn't want to be a duck." Then after that y'all got a great thingy that gives y'all first-time parents 15 of the 50 parenting tips (not saying that you're bad at it😝) and at the end of the book (after the tips duh) is a little BOLD icon saying TAP HERE TO SEE THE REST OF THE 50 TIPS!!! (or something like that) oh and note to the author you just keep writing books and I on the other hand will keep reading this book (over and over again....hmmmm maybe you should make a series...... The Adventures Of Holy The Horse ........ dang that sounds good😝😁)
Many times our natural inclination is to fail to appreciate the good things we have. We believe that when we attain a certain goal--achieve good grades in school, earn a certain salary or reach a destination-- then we will be satisfied and really happy. The book " Holly Horse and the Great Quest" teaches children to do the opposite to appreciate what we have. If each of us would carefully acknowledge what we already have, we will find the beauty in life.

During her quest, Holly is looking for better grass. She meets new friends, who direct her in her journey. Eventually she learns that what she was looking for was right under her nose! This is a charming children's book that has a very important message for kids and adults alike.
After reading this delightful children's book to my 4 year old grand kids they responded with, "Please read again." They love horses. This is a good little picture book with a common moral that the grass may not be greener on the other side. Holly horse is off on an adventure and meets new friends trying to find the lush green grass that is better than the one in her field. Of course, she finds out that the grass in HER field is what she was looking for after all. After reading the story we had a great discussion and that's not all. At the end of the book there are tips that will benefit many parents to help build their children's self-esteem. You can always learn something. I cannot recommend this book enough. If your kids love horses they will love this awesome children's book.
